The Faculty Association is proud to announce a new initiative, the FA Faculty Spotlight, in which we spotlight the good work of our members.
In our first edition of the FA Faculty Spotlight, we’d like to shine a light on Dr. Wenda Quidort—also known as Wendi to her colleagues and Dr. Q to her students.
Dr. Quidort is a passionate and dedicated educator in the department of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. She teaches Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology, and she puts her heart and soul into every class she teaches. She is also the co-chair of the department’s Student Awards committee.

Dr. Quidort believes our students deserve the best education and she has pioneered undergraduate Biology research in the department. It is nothing short of commendable, as funding was limited, and the idea is foreign to most two-year colleges. Researching an important topic about enteric bacteria in local water bodies, and antibiotic-resistance in the said population, her students have been contributing to an important issue that impacts the community and its surrounding areas.
Her passion for research and her idea that community colleges can bring that experience to their students has helped foster an Experimental Biology course, which has been steadily growing.

Dr. Quidort’s contributions are an inspiration to everyone on our campus, and her hard work and dedication to our students and her field show just how much one faculty member can help to change the world.
Thank you Dr. Jaya Dasgupta for nominating Dr. Wenda Quidort.
